# Adjusting Portlet Appearance

### **Open the Configuration Panel**

Each portlet has a pencil icon or an Open Configuration button. Click either one on the portlet you want to style. This action opens the portlet’s configuration panel.

**Select the Appearance Tab**

Within the configuration panel, click the Appearance tab to access the portlet’s visual customization general options.

### **Customize Basic Appearance Settings**

A small panel appears with options like Border, Background, Title, and Boundary Border. Use these options to customize the portlet’s look and feel.

* **Border**\
  Toggles an outline around the entire text portlet.
* **Background**\
  Toggles a background color behind the text area.
* **Title**\
  Toggles a title bar for the portlet. When enabled, you can specify a Label for the portlet’s title bar.
* **Boundary Border**\
  Toggles an additional border or outline around the portlet’s content area.

### **Close and Save**

Once you’re happy with the new appearance, close the configuration panel. Your portlet will retain these settings unless you choose to change them again later.
